Coordinates efforts of departments in setting goals which complement overall organizational goals. 4.   Prepares and/or directs the preparation of budgets based on past, current and anticipated expenditures and revenues. 5. Directs compilation of data and preparation of financial and operating reports to facilitate effective administration of activities by management. 6.  Prepares detailed analysis of financial statements to reflect variances in income, expenditures and capital asset values from previous periods and from budgeted amounts. 7.  Makes recommendations to the CEO, Director of Patient Care Services and Department Managers concerning the means of reducing operating costs and increasing revenues based on knowledge of market trends, financial reports and industry operating procedures. 8. Recommends new or modified accounting systems. Provides complete and accurate records of hospital assets, liabilities and financial transactions. 9. Recommends rates to be charged for patient services. 10. Assists in developing credit and collection policies for action by the Governing Board. 11. Attends Finance Committee meetings and Governing Board meetings and is prepared to interpret the financial statements. 12. Arranges for audits of Granite Falls Municipal Hospital and Manor.13. Assures that assets are properly insured against loss.14. Provides administrative support to assigned departments:             A.  Monitors revenue and expense budgets for assigned departments.            B. Advises Department Managers on problem solving and program development.            C. Assists with capital equipment review, procurement and financing. 15.  Attends Board meetings as well as other community meetings as a representative of the hospital. Actively contributes to management team meetings. 16. Evaluates the accounting and patient business services, procedures to plan methods for insuring timely receipt of payments on patient accounts, reducing costs of operations and expediting flow of work. 17. Is responsible for the preparation of cost reimbursement reports for government and private third party payers. 18.  Is a part of the Executive Team of the hospital and advises the CEO as to the financial condition of the organization. 19.  Reviews patient accounts recommended for collection. 20. Reviews uncompensated care accounts and program. 21. Maintains a current understanding of federal and state regulations as they affect reimbursement and recommends changes in operations to maximize reimbursement and maintain financial viability. 22. Provides Department Managers with financial and statistical reports, and is available to assist them in the interpretation and analysis of financial regulatory requirements. 23. Coordinates preparation of reports required by agencies, including MDH, MHHP, AHA. 24. Reviews contracts as appropriate and necessary. 25. Helps promote community relations by serving on various committees, clubs and boards 26. Promotes positive customer relations. 27.
